This seminar will pick up on key issues surrounding the future of the farming industry, especially in terms of developing sustainable systems of production and distribution. The intention is to engage both the farming sector and wider stakeholder groups to discuss issues identified by the Sustainable Food and Farming Strategy and delivered through the SFFS Action Plan. The seminar will look closely at the role of agriculture in the UK, how future policy can address current challenges facing the sector, and ultimately how farming can move towards a sustainable future.

We are delighted to be able to include in this seminar keynote addresses from: Professor Janet Allen, Director of Research, Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council; Professor John Beddington, Chief Scientific Advisor to HM Government and Head of the Government Office for Science; Peter Kendall, President, National Farmers' Union; and Melanie Leech, Director General, Food and Drink Federation.
