Sustainable Innovation Network (SIN)

The Sustainable Innovation Network (SIN) is an exciting new project addressing the future of sustainable agriculture.

Through our various pieces of research and studies we have discovered that the wealth of existing knowledge within the farming community is not being shared. The SIN aims to provide a framework where farmers can share this knowledge, through events and online material, whether it is the best way to lay a hedge or advice on grassland management.

We want to include researchers and corporate representatives in the network to input their research, knowledge and to share their area of expertise. Our goal is to create an in-depth knowledge exchange network, created by industry for industry.

The SIN will build on our existing Demonstration Network, involving our farms and research centres in the work we do. Our Demonstration Network has the unique ability to turn research into knowledge through practical application, identifying research gaps and implementing trials on farm.

The Sustainable Innovation Network provides a positive opportunity for involvement across industry, connecting the usually disparate groups of farmers, researchers and corporate representative.

We need to encourage innovation in farming; we need a proactive and realistic approach if we are to look forward and answer the challenges of tomorrow.

We would very much like to hear from you, if you are interested in the SIN, whether you are a farmer, researcher or corporate representative. Let’s work together and start answering the challenges facing the industry.
